Filling out the FAFSA is the first step to access financial aid
Filling out the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) is the first step for students in securing financial aid to make college more affordable. It’s how you’ll be considered for the most financial aid, including federal and state grants, Work-Study and loans. All eligible students should complete the FAFSA (even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for anything) to secure your potential financial aid and scholarships.
Arizona ranks 49th in the nation with just 18.7 percent of seniors submitting the FAFSA as of April 4. That’s down by 41 percent from last year. Let’s rally together to uplift and empower Arizona’s high school seniors, ensuring they receive the financial support they need by completing the FAFSA.

The Arizona Board of Regents, the state’s public universities, community colleges and college access organizations have events and resources available to support students and families navigate and submit the 2024-25 FAFSA form.

Arizona FAFSA hotline
Students and families can call the Arizona FAFSA Hotline at 1-833-293-2372. FAFSA experts are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Schedule an appointment
Students and families can schedule a one-on-one appointment with a local FAFSA expert. All appointments take place virtually via Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.

What is the FAFSA?
FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a form used to apply for financial aid. Completing the FAFSA form is the only way to access the largest source of financial aid—federal student aid—to help you pay for college. It’s important to submit a FAFSA form every year you plan to attend college or career/trade school to remain eligible and receive aid.
Applying for financial aid with FAFSA
The key to unlocking student aid to help you pay for college, career school, or trade school is submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Watch this video to prepare for submitting the 2024–25 FAFSA form.
Create and access your FSA ID
If you plan to submit a 2024–25 FAFSA form, you will need to create a StudentAid.gov account username and password. Not only can you use your StudentAid.gov account to complete and sign the FAFSA form, but you can also use it to sign the Master Promissory Note to receive student loans.
What’s changed for the 2024-25 FAFSA form?
The FAFSA experience is changing, so make sure you’re in the know. Some of the biggest changes to the online FAFSA form for 2024–25 are the ability to access the status of your FAFSA form in your StudentAid.gov account and the ability to have your FAFSA information sent to up to 20 colleges, career schools, or trade schools.
